不吃辣

爸爸妈妈是南方人,不吃辣椒,花椒五香八角之类的也从不上灶台面,甚至连葱姜都只在烧鱼时用来去腥。家里少不了的调味品是鱼露(虾油),一大瓶一大瓶从老家带来。虾油这东西就象臭豆腐,旁人闻着难受,吃起来味道鲜。特别是猪肉炖粉条,颤巍巍地夹上一筷带皮肥肉,在虾油碟中一沾,滋溜就滑进肚里,美啊。可惜爸妈为了健康,N年前就绝食虾油,倒是我们在北美无所畏惧。
20多年前揣着大华影院的录像票,头一回去女友的宿舍,她的两位同乡老同学正好也在,我老老实实地听她们你一句我一句的聊怎样用煤油炉煎鱼、红烧百页结。好不容易同学走了,录像也开演了一半。约会了一段时间,她问我:“俗话说南甜北咸东辣西酸,咱俩家伙事儿打不到一块儿去啊。”“没问题儿”我拍胸脯。
得,改天她在宿舍请我吃饭,端上来一盘麻婆豆腐,咱眼皮不眨全部消灭,算是通过考查。从那以后,我三天两头到她学校蹭饭吃,and the rest,is history。
今天情人节,祝天下有情人都成眷属,愿成了眷属的一生浓情!
