【Black Sesame and Sweet Rice Puree】
by MaomaoMom
I always have a bag of black sesame and a box of dates handy at home. These two have lots health benefits . Sesame seeds are excellent source of copper and a very good source of manganese, but they are also a good source of calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc, molybdenum, selenium, and dietary fiber. Dates are high in fiber, low in fat, high in simple carbohydrates, and they don’t contain cholesterol.

Cook time: 25minutes
Level: low
Serves: 4 servings
Ingredients:
1) 1 cup roasted black sesame seeds (110g);
2) ½ cup sweet rice (100g);
3) 5 large dates;
4) 3.5 cups cold water.
Directions:
1: Rinse sweet rice and soak with 1 cup cold water for 2 hours (Picture 1).
2: Place roasted black sesame seeds (Picture 2) into a plastic bag, seal and roll with a rolling pin to crushed sesame seeds (Picture 3). I bought dates from Costco (Picture 4). Remove pits of dates and set aside (Picture 5).
3: Pour the soaked sweet rice with water into the soy milk machine. Add crushed sesame seeds and pitted dates and 2.5 cups water.

4: Cover the soy milk machine with lid and press “Select” button to select “Rice paste” program. Then press “start” button (Picture 6). It takes about 25 minutes to finish the program.
5: When the program is complete, you will hear the beeping sound. Unplug the soy milk machine and slowly open the lid.
6: Carefully pour the puree into four serving bowls. Add 1 tbsp honey to taste.
